On the Privacy not Prism website, a plea for donations to allow Big Brother Watch, Open Rights Group, English PEN and German internet campaigner Constanze Kurz to challenge "the UK's activities before the European Court of Human Rights."

Big Brother Watch, Open Rights Group, English PEN and internet campaigner Constanze Kurz are challenging the UK government’s surveillance of our data at the European Court of Human Rights ? and we need your support. The revelations that the government routinely taps, stores and sifts through our internet data have demonstrated an astonishing lack of legal protection for our rights ? above all, the right to privacy. This doesn’t just affect UK citizens: most of the EU’s external internet traffic is routed through the UK. That’s why we’re taking the government to court. Join our campaign and help fund our legal team to hold our politicians to account.
