Tiny and unheard of, Ecuador wants to promote its still-nascent tourism industry by using all 24 million tonnes of bananas it ships every year as Banana Ambassadors.

It is now adding QR stickers emblazoned with Ecuador tourism logo, instead of the conventional stickers attached to each banana, and scanning the QR takes users to promotional video and tourism site, with the hope that enough people notice it and get curious about the provenance of the fruit and the country it comes from.
