Alva: the Edison Inspired Lightbulb Lamp

Artist and designer Luke Anderson has started a Kickstarter project to help bring to life the Alva, a modern lamp inspired by vintage bulbs. The Alva is entirely created by hand by local artists and combines modern LED technology.

With Alva I am trying to capture the beauty of those early bulbs. There are several companies today that sell reproductions of early Edison bulbs, but they are still too bright to look at and enjoy. With Alva I have been able to create a lamp that looks like an large Edison light bulb. It is bright enough to read by while not being so bright as to hurt one's eyes.
