While reading an article on ladyada.net on how to make a self-contained wireless monitoring camera with motion-sensing capabilities, I discovered Eye-Fi, an SD card with a built-in WiFi transceiver. Once configured, the card can automatically upload any image you took to your computer, smartphone or to various photo-sharing sites. Needless to say, I love the idea.
Looks like you can get them to work in Linux with a bit of work.
