Wiped out in the wild, there are only three Northern White Rhino left in captivity. Researchers are attempting to save the species using Assisted Reproductive Techniques as breeding has failed due to the age of the animals. They live under armed guard.
Sudan is the only surviving male of the species and lives with the last two females on a wildlife conservancy in Kenya as scientists race to develop IVF techniques that might keep their lineage alive.
