Fascinating video brought to attention by The Atlantic's Kasia Cieplak-Mayr von Baldegg. Reportedly, the tardigrades -- aka water bears -- are so "unlike other species on Earth, one theory holds that they evolved elsewhere and somehow traveled here on 'space debris.'"

Tardigrades or "Water Bears" are the only creatures that can survive the extreme conditions in the vacuum of outer space.
