Matt Novak, of the Smithsonian Magazine's Paleofuture section, has this gallery of French postcards from 1912 depicting what the year 2012 might look like. From the images, it's clear that our ancestors believed we'd be travelling in flying cars by now -- and sporting a disturbing obsession for chocolate.
