You may have heard by now that Google released Google Currents (iTunes or Android), a handy little app for smartphones and tablets that directly competes with Flipboard. And it pretty much works the same way, too, by providing you with offline content you can read and keep informed, all while making it look like a nifty little tabloid. The content isn't as fresh as Twitter, but makes for good reading of opinion pieces while riding in the subway.
