Berlusconi Resigns, Romans Cheer by Singing the Hallelujah Chorus from "Messiah"

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi resigned during the weekend after the government approved austerity measures. Italians, gathered in the streets of Rome, cheered his departure.

Earlier in the evening, as they waited for Mr. Berlusconi to return to the palace, an orchestra performed the hallelujah portion of George Frederick Handel's "Messiah," complete with some vocal accompaniment. A video posted to YouTube by the user antoniocontent showed a tuneful celebration.
