Gecko-Like Robot Climbs Walls Like One

Canadian researchers at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia, have developed a robot that is able to crawl up walls of any texture -- even glass -- by duplicating the specialized biology of the lizard's feet.

Researchers, from Simon Fraser University, have developed a tank-like robot that has the ability to scale smooth walls, opening up a series of applications ranging from inspecting pipes, buildings, aircraft and nuclear power plants to deployment in search and rescue operations.
