There Were No Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq

According to this article in The Guardian, there were no WMDs in Iraq.

Reportedly, claims of their existence were fabricated by an Iraqi defector -- codenamed Curveball -- who 'invented' tales of bioweapons in order to try and bring down Saddam Hussein's regime. The ruse worked:

The defector who convinced the White House that Iraq had a secret biological weapons programme has admitted for the first time that he lied about his story, then watched in shock as it was used to justify the war.
