Apparently, a woman's tears are a defensive system against aggressive or sexually charged testosterone-driven men.
According to this article in The Toronto Star, Israeli scientists have discovered that emotional tears shed by women have a hidden scent that lowers male testosterone levels significantly, making them less sexually aroused.
Scientists have no idea what a man's tears do to women as not one male volunteered to cry on behalf of science. Silly researchers! All they needed to do was hang out at last night's Canada-Russia game for plenty of samples.
