According to Australia's Gizmodo, Google has decided that in its new line of Chrome-powered laptops, it is going to eliminate the Caps Lock key.

The idea, supposedly, is that it would "improve the quality of the comments, because people will not be able to write all in capital letters". Seriously? As Gizmodo's Jesus Diaz notes YOU CAN STILL PRESS SHIFT AND BE A COMPLETE DORK. or worse, ignore the rules of capitalization completely. and that, to someone as anal retentive as me, would be just as painful to read (look ma, no period)

Perhaps removing the caps-lock key gives laptop-makers the kind of savings experienced by an airline when it removes a single olive from its meals? Just kidding. The Caps-Lock key, which is replaced by a Search key, can easily be put back if you really want it.
