Online Security Study Reveals People Are Still Really Stupid

Mike Lennon, of the Security Week blog, after seeing a study on how careless people are with their passwords and overall online security, did a facepalm. After seeing the numbers myself, I don't blame him.

The study mentions that despite the fact that "40,000 to 100,000 new samples of malware emerge daily, and in most of those cases the motivation behind the malware is financial," most people, particularly younger ones, are especially likely to take online security risks. Mike reminds its readers that any account that can be exploited is valuable to a cyber criminal, not just online banking accounts. Read the findings here.
