Looks like the hole they dug in the ground to get the miners out is working and more than half of them are out in the sun. That's the good news.
The bad news is that, uh, some of the miners had mistresses. At least five wives have come face-to-face with their existence which had been kept a secret by their husbands. One miner turned out to have a first wife he never divorced, his live-in partner, a mother of a child he had several years ago, and a woman who claims to be his current girlfriend. And they're all visiting the camp.
The real reason behind this, though, may be the welfare packages issued to the families of the trapped miners as well as future compensation claims, which could be some pretty penny.
"Unfortunately the conflict stems from money issues," said Marta Flores a Red Cross worker at the makeshift camp where relatives wait for news of their loved ones. "Some of the men have children from numerous women and all of them have arrived here to stake their claim. I've met five families in this situation but I'm sure there are more." I guess that explains why some of the miners were fighting as to who got to go out last.
