Mark Suster, a self-defined "2x entrepreneur who has gone to the Dark Side of VC", thinks that Apple has become a corrupt company and that if the app model continues to function, the technology community is going to suffer.
When WAP phones came out, the market joined the hype and rushed to launch WAP versions of their products. But as noted early in the game by Mark Suster, an entrepreneur turned VC and author on the Both Sides of the Table blog, WAP was crap: it was slow, hard to use and required content sites to develop totally new content.
A decade later, the same cycle is seen repeating itself with the advent of the app. Mark argues that Apple has become corrupted and if its app model continues to succeed, it will be bad for the health of the technology community. Here is his reasoning why.
