Each episode of The Flintstones, reports Cathal Kelly for The Toronto Star, was based on two things: hate and lies. Fred hated Wilma, who hated Fred, who hated his job, where he was hated by Mr. Slate. Except Barney. Barney didn't hate anyone. But everyone took turns on torturing the poor guy mercilessly.

As for the lies, each episode revolved around some kind of untruth told by someone else prompting a plethora of shenanigans. According to modern research, shows like Faces of Death had a less deleterious effect on childhood delinquency than just 10 minutes exposure to The Flintstones.
