Pennsylvania Installs Wine Vending Machines

Pennsylvania, a government-only liquor-sales state, has installed two trial wine vending machines in supermarkets. To buy a bottle, a consumer has to swipe a driver's licence, look into the camera, blow into a breathalyser and wait for someone at the liquor board to approve the purchase. Critics regard the machines' methods as treating customers like "conniving under-aged drunks."
