Brain Games Don't Make You Smarter

Playing computer brain games may boost your ability to track a ball or land an on-screen helicopter; however, according to a new U.K. study, it won't make you a rocket scientist. "If you're doing the games with the hope of getting some kind of general cognitive improvement, the evidence suggests you're wasting your time," says Jessica Grahn of Cambridge's Medical Research Council Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit.
