"Mrs Wright," says The Times parliamentary sketchwriter Matthew Parris, "turns 80 this year. She still works for me. But her secretarial workload--dealing with my post--is diminishing. Fewer write. My own clerical work, though (which is mostly e-mailing) is increasing at a rate that threatens to overwhelm me.
