Landline Phone Service Must Die

AT&T tells the FCC that, with consumers embracing VoIP and wireless, it's time for the agency to schedule a sunset date for landline telephony. "Due to technological advances," says AT&T, "changes in consumer preference, and market forces, the question is when, not if, the plain old telephone service service and the network over which it is provided will become obsolete."
