While scouring YouTube I found this video showcasing black and white footage with sound from 1928-1929. Something special to see all the little old cars at Yesteryear lined up at a crossing as a giant steam engine rolled by.

More early sound film from the Fox Movietone News archives in the University of South Carolina's Moving Image Resource Collection. It shows New York Central trains in the Hudson River valley in 1928 and 1929.
