With the leaps and bounds technology is improving artificial intelligence, MotherJones' Kevin Drum argues that we will all be replaced by a robot — and sooner than you think. The problem is that unless the profits generated by robots can be properly redistributed, humanity will face an era of "mass joblessness and mass poverty".

But you’d never know that from the virtual silence about solutions in policy and political circles.
