Wired shows off the work of Reddit user NSA_Listbot, who built a working railgun capable of firing carbon, aluminium, teflon and copper-plated tungsten bullets at speeds of 900 Km/h.

The gun is powered by six capacitors and a battery that together can produce 1,050 volts and over 3,000 joules of energy per shot. The capacitors and other electronics are held together in a 3D printed frame that includes an emergency discharge, power resistor and a discharge button for any leftover energy after a shot.
