Konrad the Bold had his emotions surgically removed when he was 9 years old. Don't be put off by his joyless glare, which seems to wither your spirit if you look too deeply into his eyes. That's just the way he is, even his closest friends get that same cold stare.
It's nothing personal, Konrad doesn't hate you. He can't. Once you get to know him you'll see he even has a great sense of humour and likes to tell jokes. He may not smile much but he laughs loudly and often. Though... sometimes he has a kind of sick desperation in his laugh.
Don't let it scare you.
