The Good Boy Lamp is the creation of artist Whatshisname. The lamps, shaped like a dog (small or a large, pending to your taste) feature a turd as the lamp's on-off switch you step on. The dogs are shaped in the squatting position, implying ownership of the little lump. How brilliant is that?
According to the artist, the goal was to make people uncomfortable with their use. I think he succeeded. As he explains:
Both lamps were supposed to be part of London's the Art Below exhibition on London Underground stations. Unfortunately they were banned by London Underground due to being offensive.
Only 100 of these lamps are being made and are retailing for £2,500.
