But, says Charlie Brooker in The Guardian, just because you can call her a "whore," "bitch" or urge her to commit suicide, doesn't mean you should. Especially when you consider that 13-year-old Rebecca donated every single penny that she made out of Friday to the Japan relief effort. What have you done lately?
God knows I enjoy a helping of bile. But only when it's crafted with flair. One of the most disappointing things about the slew of online Rebecca Black abuse is the sheer poverty of language involved. If you are complaining about a banal pop song but can't muster a more inventive way to express yourself than typing "OMFG BITCH YOU SUCK", then you really ought to consider folding your laptop shut and sitting quietly in the corner until that fallow lifespan of yours eventually reaches its conclusion.
If you seriously think Rebecca is that crappy to be worth being wished she was dead, please be sure to post a link to your YouTube music video. It better be awesome. Or help you God.

It's possible that she should have held onto that money instead of donating it. She may not have a career, and that song may be the only thing she'll ever have. (unless she is well connected and fame brings money, regardless of music quality -- but that's hardly ever the case in the USA)
You're missing the entire point. The stupidity isn't that people call her a "whore," "bitch" or urge her to commit suicide. It's that she made such a horrible song to begin with.
I can't tell if this is a spoof, or if she's being serious. If it's a spoof, it's horrible good at what it's meant for. If she's being serious (which I can bet she is), there are clear things that other people can apparently see- and you can't.
1. It's auto-tuned and still sounds horrible. She sings like she has a nasal congestion.
2. She's 13, and her other 13 year old friends are driving a car when they're not old enough to drive.
3. Her parents payed the company to produce this song, because they want her to be famous.
4. The company produces music videos for anyone that pays them. So there's no talent in any of this.
If you have any kind of insight (aka, intelligence), then you should be able to understand what I've said. :)

It sounds like you're okay with people calling her those things simply because the song is horrible. You must be one of those individuals that does everything perfect from the start. Lucky for us you stopped by here to set us straight! Just kidding, you suck.

I can see that the song is terrible. What I can't see is why people need to wish her dead or feel the need to call her a "whore" or "bitch" to her face just because her song is bad. That doesn't really sound like contructive criticism. It just makes you sound jealous.
1. It's auto-tuned and still sounds horrible. She sings like she has a nasal congestion.
It does. She's also 13.
2. She's 13, and her other 13 year old friends are driving a car when they're not old enough to drive.
Seriously, you have a problem because a music video is showing unrealistic things? What, did you run out of ideas at #2 already? Here's a thought: Gummi Bears don't actually walk, yet Kate Perri has them walking around in her music video. Lady Gaga seems to break from the norm quite a bit. And she's not the first: in Pink Floyd's "The Wall", crosses are flying over London ready to bomb it and, later, hammers are marching Nazi style down the street. You should call them and let them know that, despite their many platinum records, their video totally blows because "crosses don't fly and hammers don't march." I hope you haven't seen this movie called "Avatar," or you just might shit yourself that they fly spaceships when in reality we don't even have the shuttle anymore, never mind travelling past the moon.
3. Her parents payed the company to produce this song, because they want her to be famous.
Well, it worked. Forty-million views. And counting. I've seen her on the news. We're talking about her. AND she's getting a record deal. That's a sweet set of parents. Don't you wish your parents didn't suck?
4. The company produces music videos for anyone that pays them. So there's no talent in any of this.
That's, uh, the whole point of that company. Car companies make cars for anyone that'll buy them, no matter how badly they drive. If they were going to only make music videos for people with one iota of singing competence, they'd be out of business fast. On the bright side, it means that bitter little girls like yourself can make their own video, too. :)
If you have any kind of insight (aka, intelligence), then you should be able to understand what I've said. :)
The only insight I've seen out of your message is the subtle bitterness hidden under an air of pretentious superiority. Hey, whatever helps you sleep at night.
You are not thinking straight, she's popular because she is horrible, I suggest you go write more productive posts next time ok? Because Basically the world is laughing at this post. thank you.
To the above poster, who is evidently our conscience:
Where have you been? We haven't seen you in years!
On another note, the post was productive enough to prompt you to post, so I guess it's job well done. No need to thank us.
Rebecca Black's song is horrible. Also, brilliant. She has provided millions of hours of entertainment with her video and the subsequent parodies.
Incidentally, you're wrong about the whole world laughing at us. Over my lunch break, I conducted a survey of every person in the world (ok, I admit I missed a few people in Botswana, but still...) and they all said the weren't laughing at this post. On the contrary, they found it "delightfully insightful." EVERY. LAST. ONE.
So retract your statement please. Thank you.
This article is wrong, plain and simple. Simple reasoning dictates that people shouldn't be calling her a whore or telling her to kill herself. I agree with you 100% on that point. I don't believe that the song is addicted. I don't believe a song that youtube tells me has caused suffering to over 1,760,452 people should be rewarded for supporting aid in Japan.
My second point is that she is only 13 is not in any way a valid reason for her to release a song with no talent at all. The lyrics are terrible. No melody. Half the time she is deciding which of 2 places in the vehicle she should sit in while only one is open and she seems to have already chosen. Somebody failed basic math. There have been many young musicians. (Google search 'talented kid singers'). She is the bile of the earth and i wish buying this terrible wasn't what is driving funds to Japan. I wish that people didn't need motivation like that to help others.
Japan would have way more people funding aid if Black took donations until Japan is stable to remove the song from the face of earth (and all of the web-servers within earth)!

Simple reasoning should also tell you not to flatly declare that an article is wrong and then agree with one of its points in the very next sentence.
I don't believe that the song is addicted.
Addicted to what?
I don't believe a song that youtube tells me has caused suffering to over 1,760,452 people should be rewarded for supporting aid in Japan.
Not supporting. She is actually doing something practical: sending money.
My second point is that she is only 13 is not in any way a valid reason for her to release a song with no talent at all.
So what would be a valid reason? If she had talent? And I assume that you are Supreme Arbiter of Talent?
I can honestly say that I would rather listen to Rebecca Black than quite a few of today's current performers. If I could erase Kesha from history or Rebecca Black, well, then I'm afraid we're partyin' partyin' this Friday and not wakin' up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy.
Incidentally, great artists tend to be bad artists at 13. They have to work at it, practice and eventually get better. We should give them an opportunity to grow, no?
The lyrics are terrible.
You just described 90 percent of today's pop songs.
She is the bile of the earth and i wish buying this terrible wasn't what is driving funds to Japan.
My brain hurts.
I wish that people didn't need motivation like that to help others.
Homeless people in Japan are probably not particular about where the funding comes from. If you ever need charity, somehow I don't think you'll first determine if the source has your taste in music before you accept it.
Japan would have way more people funding aid if Black took donations until Japan is stable to remove the song from the face of earth (and all of the web-servers within earth)!
I was unaware that gun-toting maniacs are going around forcing people to listen to this song. Its primary medium is Youtube. It's not like it's being played 24/7 on every TV or radio. You have to make a deliberate choice to seek it out in order to hear it. Which people have obviously been doing. Even if they hate the song, it's a song they love to hate. This is called entertainment, even if the author's intent was completely different. By pure accident, Rebecca Black has provided a great deal of entertainment.
I am looking forward to her next single.

Mind my few spelling mistakes (you pretentious asshole). The overtone of an article can be wrong, even if points are valid. Rebbecca Black has some talent (watch the interviews). She destroys that by taking a very whiny, hip-hop life tone.
I was introduced to this atrocity while watching the news. It was apparently headline worthy for quite a while. Support = money in this case. See financial support.
I tend not to listen to 90% of today's pop songs as they are mostly the same 3 songs played over and over again (see Britney Spears and 'LADY' Gaga).
I'm not saying the donations are tainted, I'm saying we shouldn't be donating by buying the latest tune. We should be donating for the sake of donating.
Thanks,
Tyler Morrison
PS: If your her #1 fan, 249,109 priests with their pants down in the confessionals with a laptop just shit themselves!
Mind my few spelling mistakes (you pretentious asshole).
Actually, they were grammatical and sentence structure mistakes.
She destroys that by taking a very whiny, hip-hop life tone.
Oh, why didn't you say so?! A thirteen year-old girl acting like... well, a thirteen year-old girl! We must put a stop to this!
If you can look back at your 13-year old self and not wince, you aren't reminiscing properly. She has acted no more immaturely than any other 13-year old. She just fell into the spotlight.
I was introduced to this atrocity while watching the news.
Armed gunmen were preventing you from changing the channel, were they?
I'm not saying the donations are tainted, I'm saying we shouldn't be donating by buying the latest tune. We should be donating for the sake of donating.
And she did.
Thanks,
Tyler Morrison
Your welcome!

Spelling addicting wrong and your spell-check putting addicted is indeed a spelling mistake.
And those armed gunmen are called 'the controller being to far away for me to care enough to change it'.
You just ousted over 200,000 pedophiles as her #1 fan is what i meant (see the youtube likes).
I am properly reminiscing. I stopped singing at 11.
And those armed gunmen are called 'the controller being to far away for me to care enough to change it'.
So we agree that you don't find the song particularly annoying?
Ya it's really annoying.
Evidently it's not that annoying, otherwise you'd reach for the remote. Since you can't be bothered, we can safely conclude that the song's impact is minimal. Since the impact is minimal, it is a gross over-reaction to hate Rebecca Black. One might even argue that hating her is on fact... stupid.
Somebody should really write an article about this.
Yeah, somebody should. Preferably someone who wasn't watching the video on acid at the time.
(That rules you out)
Glad to see you've come around to our viewpoint on Rebecca Black. Thank you for being so reasonable.
Yes to summarize:
This song is terrible and so is this article. The song is not bad enough to turn off if you are lazy. A new article writer that isn't on acid should form a better article.
That's about it,
Tyler Morrison
... for being more concerned with a crappy video some little girl posted on YouTube than issues such as corporations not paying taxes, cuts to services, destruction of unions and the overall loss of civil liberties and freedoms in his country.
If this is the next generation of voters, it's no wonder the world is falling to pieces.
I think that Rebecca Black is AWESOME! I LOVE the song "Friday" and I don't get why people are bad mouthing her. I wish that I could be donating money to Japan.
