According to a report published on February 11 by the World Health Organization, each person on earth drank an average of 6.1 litres of pure alcohol in 2005. Europe and what was once the U.S.S.R. drink the most, with Moldovians in first place (18.2 litres per person), followed by the Czechs. Most amazingly, alcohol kills more people than AIDS or tuberculosis. Check out the graph and article in The Economist.
