Despite being a "pea-brained glutton with a permanent craving for doughnuts and Duff beer," the telegraph.co.uk notes how the Osservatore Romano, the Vatican's official newspaper, calls Homer Simpson "a true Catholic".
The Vatican's newspaper states that despite Homer's ability to sleep through Reverend Lovejoy's sermons or his constant torturing of Flanders, the overly religious neighbour, the cartoon is one of the few shows that explores family, community, education and religious issues in a way that few other shows do. "Few people know it," insists L'Osservatore Romano, "and he does everything he can to hide it, but it is true: Homer J. Simpson is a Catholic".
At any rate, now we know what the Pope likes to watch.
