After Gizmodo posted photographs of homeless people using notebook computers, a self-proclaimed homeless person explains why he's living on the streets of Paris but still owns an iPad and a netbook. His logic: you can live without your personal belongings and it's not that big of a deal in today's world to be without a home; however, having connections to the rest of the world is pretty important. Using free WiFi at McDonalds, charging his devices with solar panels and earning a bit of a living DJing with his iPad, the homeless person lives the kind of life comparable to a permanent traveller.

It may sound strange, but he argues that "I think it's unusual for people to assume that 'homeless' is equivalent to crazy, scruffy, broke, or in fact anything. Owning a laptop is not hard. Owning a house these days? Try it. Let me know when you give up."
