If you thought Economy Class was cramped, wait until you see this article by Debra Black of The Toronto Star. Reportedly, Aviointeriors, an Italian aircraft seat design firm, has come up with an airplane seat that looks like and feels like a saddle, providing only 58 cm of leg room -- versus the 81 found on most airlines. The manufacturer claims that "For flights anywhere from one to possibly even up to three hours ... this would be comfortable seating," Dominique Menoud, director general of Aviointeriors Group told USA Today. "The seat ... is like a saddle. Cowboys ride eight hours on their horses during the day and still feel comfortable in the saddle." While true, Dominique seems to forget that horses aren't normally that cramped nor do they fly.
