Mashable's Shane Snow has put together this infographic which illustrates the trends and averages for texting in the United States and around the world. Did you know that girls aged 14-17 average 100 text messages per day? Or that the Philippines has the highest average of messages sent per month per subscriber? Most surprisingly, texting has become the communication medium of choice for teens everywhere (beating face-to-face conversation and e-mail in popularity) and permeates nearly every social group.
