With the economic downturn, combined with a large number of foreclosures and an ever decreasing demand, the culture of the suburban home may never recover. Founded on the concept of disposable income and cheap energy, now suburban neighbourhoods look something out of a Mad Max movie with overgrown lawns, vacant strip malls and squatters camping in empty homes.
