In Canada, the change from analogue to digital television broadcasting won't happen until August 31st of 2011. In the United States, albeit originally planned for February 17, 2009, the DTV Delay Act pushed it all the way to June 12, 2009. Broadcasters might switch early anyway so to save a significant amount of dollars in powering their analogue broadcasting systems.
